ECONOMY MACHINE
GERMAN/S BRIGHT INVENTION. BERLIN, August 28. German ingenuity lias invented an automatic machine, designed to effect the sort of economy that kept the country alive in war time. It is a large contrivah.e, oi' which 60 replicas have been erected in various parts o. the city. Housewives place potato peelings in it- turn a handle, and receive a supply of cut wood in exchange. Women using the machine regularly earn a share in a State lottery ticket. It is hoped that 225.000 tons of peelings will be saved every year, for use a 8 cheap fodder for pigs and cows.
