THOUGHTS OF THE TIMES.
“A GLUT OF GOLD.” According to a message from New York, the concentration of gold there may force many countries off the gold standard, besides having very adverse effects on the internal economic position. These weighty considerations may lead to co-operative action with other countries in an effort to restore a better distribution of gold, and thus do something to hasten the return of industrial prosperity.
