AUCKLAND, September 7
An epidemic of influenza and influenza colds are serious’y depleting the staffs . of,, the .-city .business houses/ and factories and the public services. In one large establishment, fifty employees were absent to-day, The Auckland Hospital has been called upon tg accommodate a great influx of influenza patients. The authorities have been obliged to refuge apy but urgent oases. On the whole, the epidemic is of comparatively a mild character,
The worst type of cases are being accompanied by gastric disorder, The serious pneumonic type of influenza is conspicious by its absence.
