NOW IN PROGRESS. THE CHATEAU, September 3. Five hundred men are* engaged in a desperate attempt to- locate Stanton to-day. They are split up into parties of five or six men, each led by an expert bushman.. They are operating over a five mile face from' Erua to pokaka. A base camp has. l?een established three or four miles up Makatote Gorge and food has been carried in there from the road. All the parties are working in to one point.
