RACING CLUB BALL

A GREAT SUCCESS. A distinct success war. the result of the benefit ball in aid of the funds of the Westland Racing Club at the Soldiers’ Hall last night. There ’ was an overflowing attendance, one of the larg- ! est of the year and the gathering poss.d off mosi enjoyabiy firim every point of view. There was a gay scene with the colored electric lights and Chinese lanterns assisted by the blight dr-sses ol the ladies, the-floor was in perfect order and the music jointly suppled by the Black Hand (rich stray Melody Five, Gaiety Dance Band and Parryphone, proved very acceptable to the dancers, the dloor being crowded throughput ths night. Air W. A. Jamieson had charge of the floor and dance followed dance in ■ rapid succession. The ladies’ committee supplied a splendid supper, voted one of the best and all were well pleased. The gathering proved enjoyable and successful from every point 'of'"view and should result ill a substantial profit. JUVENILE BALL TO-NIGHT, To-night, commencing at 7.30 o’clock, a juvenile ball will’be held in the Soldiers’ Hail, when a merry time should a result, and as the admission charge is A a very reasonable one there should be a large attendance present. Parents and. guardians would be well advised tri allow all children pos« si bio to attend the Juvonilo.y Ball to - bo held this evening. There .is nbund. an.ee of very excellent A Refreshments and every or.o is assured of a most happy and pleasant time. The Ball held last night proved to be an outstanding success and the same performance doubtless will be repeated. Let aU children be present and enjoy the gala night.
