FOOTBALL
It is understood that in connection with the senior knock out fixture forJ Saturday next that the Excelsior Club are not satisfied with the draw, which sets them down to travel to Greymouth to play Stars, and that there is a prospect of the fixture not being fulfilled, a§ a protest against the great amount of travelling the Club has been called upon to do this season, which is out of proportion to any other Clubs in the senior competition have been called upon to do. The matter was discussed with the West Coast Rugby Union before the senior competition was concluded and it was understood that in the senior knock out competition that followed the Club were to be allowed home matches to make up for the excessive travelling they had been called upon to do.- However the latest decision makes the Cluib travel to Greymouth again and this they consider is unfair and not warranted, hence their possible protest by forfeiting the game.
