BANK MERGER. (Australian Press Association) iSYDNEY, September 1. 1 It was announced last night that the Australian Bank of Commerce Limited was merging with the Bank" ot New South Wales, the latter to issue a further sixty-id ur thousand shares of £2O each for the purposes of the merger. As the paid up capital ot the Australian Bank of Commerce is £2,208,000 in shares of on© pound each, shareholders in that bank wilt receive two shares in the Bank of New South Wales for each sixty-nine shares in the Australian Bank of Commeice. ! . N.'S.W. SAVINGS BANK. SYDNEY, August 31. The N.S.W. Savings Bank Commissioners, whose appointments are stated to be for twelve months, met to-day to consider ways and means of reopening the Bank. Mr O’Malley-Wood was elected President, and Sir John Butters Vice-Presi-dent.
