STOLE A BICYCLE
AUCKLAND, August 28. Probation for twelve months was granted to George James Dale, a steward aged twenty-two, who appeared in the Police Court this morning charged with the theft of a bicycle . valued at £3. Detective-Sergeant Kelly ; He has five previous convictions for breaking and entering. The Probation Officer: He was quite a good boy when I had him before. The Magistrate, Mr F. K. Hunt: Well,' you had better have him for another twelve months. “Now, you go straight,” said the Magistrate to Dale. Accused : I have been, sir. I found the bike. Mr Hunt: Well, I’ve been wandering round tfte world for sixty years and I’ve never found a bike yet. i.
