CUSTOMS FIGURES. [By Telegraph, Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 26. Questioned this morning regarding, the prospects of the estimates of Customs revenue being realised, Hon. G. Forbes said, as had already been announced, there had been a drop in tbe. Hist three months’ figures, but all the conditions have been taken into account when the estimates were made. There was no reason to fear the falling off would continue. It was felt that as stocks must be getting low there would have to be an increase in ‘yqpqyt? *
DAMAGES CLAIM.
JURY’S FINDING. CTIRISTOHCRCH, August 26, Ip the claim for damages, Priest v, Gunn, the jury found in answering the questions put by His Honour that the defendant had not been going too fast, and that he had not failed to keep a proper lookout, but had been guilty of contributory negligence in attempting, under the circumstances, to cross the road. The jury disallowed the claim for damages, but allowed medical expenses. , Damages were assessed at £53 8s 6d general damages nil.
