ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. (By Telegraph—Per tress Association) CHRISTCHURCH, August 26. Mutton was cheaper, while beef and pork were rather dearer at to-day’s Addington Sale. There was a smaller yarding of beef, mostly of weights suitable for trade requirements. Prime light cattle met a ready sale at an advance on past rates. Heavy .sorts showed no appreciable adviatnee. It was an irregular sale, however. Prime extra heavy steers sold up to £ls 7s 6d, heavy £ll 5s to £l3 ss, prime £lO 15s to £l2 10s, medium £7 10s to £8 15s, plain from £6 2s 6d. Best heavy heifers sold to £l3 5s 6d, prime £8 5s to £ 10 10s, medium £6 os to £8 2s 6d. Best heavy cows sold up to £l2 7s 6d, prime £7 15s to £9 ss, medium £4 15s to £6 os, inferior from £2 15.
There was a small j-arding of store sheep, comprising 23 lots, mostly of backward sorts. They changed hands at lower values.
There was a smaller yarding of fat sheep but it was sufficient for requirements. It was mostly of wethers. 'The quality was only medium for the most part The values were barely equal to late rates. Prime show wethers sold up to 25s lOd, prime heavy 19s to 21s 7d, prime handweights 17s to 18s fid. medium 15s to 16s 6d, light .from 13s. Best heavy ewes sold up to 19s 4d, prime 16s to 17s, medium 14s to 15s 6d, light 12s to 13s 7d: inferior from 9s.
There was a medium yarding of fat pigs. The demand was firm, with a slight rise in values. Porkers sold 35s to 40s, heavier 42s to 48s 6d, baeoners £2 15s to £3, heavy baconers £3 4s 6d to £ 3 15s, extra heavy to £4 os choppers to £8 6s. Store pigs were firm
