THEFT FROM SHOP. Aa unusual method. (uoifuivoDKy —i/dmoy/aj; a^j CHRISTCHURCH, August 24. In the Supreme Court to-day, William Morris was found guilty of theft of goods valued at £55 and £6 9s 6d in money from Messrs A. J. White Ltd. Morris had a confederate employed with A. .7. White Ltd., in the furniture and hardware shop. .Morris sold goods to people at much below value. He collected the cash, and shared it with the accomplice (already convicted), within tile shop, and the accomplice prevented the sales from being entered in' the firm’s books. Morris was remanded for sen-
tence. • • r NEW ROTORUA PAPER. ROTORUA, August 25.. The “Rotorua Chronicle” the evening daily, has been absorbed by the “Rotorua. .Morning Post,” which was issued for the first time this morning. The proprietors are the same, • namely, the Rotorua-Bay of Plenty Publishing Company. THEFT CHARGES. AUCKLAND, August . 24. Hudson Gilfillau, Postmaster at Epsom, has been arrested, charged with stealing £3O, the property of the Post-master-General. He was remanded cxn £2OO hail.
