(Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, August 24. The Australian golf championship carnival opened to-day in charming weather. In the first round of the professionals' thirty-six holes stroke handicap, Fran* Eyre (present open champion) broke the course record of ■seventy with sixty-nine-. Keans and Hattersley, with tine rounds of 73, secured the lead in the first round. In the amateur foursome championship of Australia, Sloan-Morpeth and Ryan were well, up with 74. W. Corrv also shared honours with Eyvo with sixty-nine.
