NEW DEVELOPMENTS, [United Press Association.—By Electric s Telegraph.—Copyright.] DELHI, August 21, The Viceroy and Sir James Crerer, a member of the Executive Council, left Calcutta for Simla suddenly yesterday. The reason is believed to bo in connection with developments in the political situation.
The news of their departure, coupled with wild rumours of the arrests of prominent Congress leaders, created a scare on the Bombay Stock Exchange, resulting in a heavy slump in values.
