FAMILY MURDERED
A HUSBAND’S CRIME.

A wholb family, numbering seven, were, wiped out at- Carlisle, a subuib of Perth, during last night. Ihe victims are:—
Roderick Davies, aged 36 years; a
carpenter. Mrs Davies, his wife, aged 35 years A daughter aged thirteen years. A son aged twelve years. A daughter aged ten years. , A son aged -six years. A son aged five months.
'The wife and children all were shot in the temple, apparently while in bed.
The husband was found in a sitting posture in an easy chair, with a bullet wound in his head. His wrist had been slashed with a razor blade. A note, in the husband’s handwriting, was tacked to the front door, inviting a neighbour to go inside. The neighbour did so, and "’as confronted by the shocking spectacle of the family dead. The police ascertained that the husband was recently in a state of melancholy, owing to his prolonged unemployment, and in his distress he apparently shot his wife and children, and then suicided.
