Detectives said that Bone, known as Doctor Bone, conducted a course in astrology, in a circular he described himself as M.A., P.R.D.S., F.R.S., and' undertook publicly to read charts and invited people to become members of the New Zealand Astrological Association at £1 per year. Defendant was formerly in Christchurch running a theatrical school, proposing to produce movies, but it came to nothing. !)efe."dan ’■ requested an adjournment to enable him to secure diplomas from America. vlagistrato Hunt said, that he would grant the adjournment if defendant would swear on oath that he had the diplomas, but he warned him if that were untrue he would risk a, prosecution for perjury. Defendant declined to enter tile, box, and when -fined, declared that he would produce the diplomas later.
