BODY IN HARBOUR
WELLINGTON TRAGEDY. 'By Telegraph—Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, August M. •Seen floating in the water between Ngahauranga and Petone shortly after 10 o’clock this morning, the body of a man in ail advanced state of decomposition was recovered by the police. The body was removed to the morgue, but it has not yet been identifh.d. WELLINGTON, August 21.
Missing from his lodgings at Kifbirnie since July 26, the body.of Gilbert Davy .Beti-gtr, a mkidk-aged man, was taken from tlie harbour about hall a mile on the Petone side of Xgahauranga to-day. The deceased was formerly a clerk in the Radway Land Office.
It -is reported that prior to his disappearance, he had been depressed on account of his wife’s death .two years ago, but he had given no indication of suicidal tendencies. He is survived by a daughter, living at Auckland.
