SOULS OF GANGSTERS
BEASTS THAT ARE REBORN
INDIAN ASTROLOGER’S VIEW
That wild beasts, which have long been killed and cannot be born again owing to the practical destruction of their species, have now been obliged to take human form and are born as the typical killers and gangsters in this world is the conclusion of Pudit Rhmakaut, an Indian astrologer, who has been on a long visit to America and Europe. So states the writer in an artcle—penned in India-—in the New York Herald Tribune. t He says:—
The Indian system of astrology has a curious section called the Avaka-Hada-Chakra, or the Wheel of Life and Form which shows the particular species of animals a human being belongs to, according to the constellation of the moon under which he is horn. Another minor branch of this indicates the mentality of the individual, judged' by the constellation in which the moon happens to be at the time of his birth. There are several species mentioned, such as the elephant, the tiger, the cobra, the rat, the horse, the cow and the dog. Dual Natures Explained. Very orten th© two constellations—the constellation of the sign, rising at the time of the birth, and the constellation of the moon—differ and indicate a double intiueiile, so that while the physical body may have the tiger qualities of cruelty, the mind may be\tUac of a rat, squeafnish, cowardly, flinching. This type of individual would he cruel to those who are under his power and subservient to those under whom he works. , Pundit Ramakaut thought tnat m the New World h e would come across new forms of evolved humanity, types which would have little chance of development in the steady groove oi settled undisturbed life ol the East, but which could easily express themselves freely in 'the■ atmosphere prevailing in America. A study of American life has convinced Pundit Ramakaut that, owing to t he very freedom existing in America, new types of human being are horn there. During his tours he collected as must data as lie could and found that the Indian Astrological Wheel of Li e gave wonderful results when applied to the astrological horoscopes cast of the types now seen in America. The Moon Of Al Capone.
For instance, Al Capone’s moo n happens to have been placed in the constellation Shata-tarakn, which immediately indicated that the mental quality ol this type of individual is taken I rum that of the elephant, lording it over the jungle. At th© same time the physical body ‘was controlled at the time of the birth by'the constellation Phalguni, which indicated the tiger species. The physical .instincts would he that of the, killer, of the ruthless, ferocious, deadly, but the mentality of the elephant would utilise the physical instincts with cunning. The cobra species of the human beings would he the first to take to spying, the profession of detection, not ferocous and furious like the tiger, but the more deadly because of their very nature. Pundit Ramakaut says he has at least 10 different horoscopes of celebrated detectives in America, and has found that in all cases either their moon or the rising sign indicated the cobra species.
The “gold diggers of Broadway,” on the qther hand’ come from the four constellations which indicate the deer species. To anybody who knows the ravages committed by deer on crops, the idea of these beautiful creatures, wide-eyed, charming, graceful, but destructive of greens and crops, is not unfamiliar. The nature, characteristics, and habits of th e “gold diggers,” Pundit Ramakaut asserts, are typical of the deer species, and are living examples of the truth of the old teachings.
Beings of the Bear Type. The typo of human being who manages to be completely “wet” even in a prohibition country like the United States is indicated by the “bear” species. fond of the honey of li"e, regardloss of the amount lie consumes, with a hide thick enough to withstand all criticism—in fact, a typical representative of the tippler. The steady growth of the human population of the world is thus accounted for, according‘to this pundit astrologer. by the equally steady diminution of the population of the jungles. Jt is necessary, he asserts, if there is to he evolution that • these unevolved souls should bo born in human form in order that their spirit'dal growth should he forced up in the present human society. Like hothouse plants, the growth ofthese beings will be intensified, while their animal natures will gradually wither, owing to the absence o* surroundings necessary to preserve these qualities. Their presence would naturally disturb human soemtv for the time being, and Chicago and New York and other cities with the freedom that they enjoy would be the first to suffer.
