RATIONALISATION IN LANCASHIRE*

A I decision was taken at Manchester to-day by the cotton operatives to negotiate with the employers on the “more looms” system, about which a serious trade dispute occurred during the winter. The decision is regarded as an important advance towards a reorganisation of the Lanchnshire cotton industry, leading to an increase of the industry’ competitive 'power in the foreign market.
