W. Massey and was interrupted by the rising of the House at 5.30 p.m. till Tuesday. M]r Massey, making his maiden speech in the House, intimated that lie did not intend to speak any length and expressing the opinion that the country would he better served in the time of depression like the present if the majority of speeches were shorter and more useful and contained less repetition. He criticised the proposed new transport regulations, submitting that permission for greater speeds and heavier loads would damage roads, increase accidents and possibly loss of life.
