N.Z. ALLIANCE, [by Telegraph, Per Press Association.. WELLINGTON, August 14. . At a meeting of the Standing Committee of the' New Zealand Alliance the following resolution was adopted: That this meeting resolves that j£ the Government, considering it in the best interests of the country, proposes to postpone the licensing poll, no opposition will be offered to the proposal as regards the poll that is due this year provided that the principle of the triennial poll is left untouched. DR KIDSON. WELLINGTON, August 14. Dr E. Hudson, Director of Meteorological Services will P-m-p bv the RaUgitane for London to-morrow, to attend the centenary meeting / of the British ’Association, commencing on September 30th. He is the delegate from Australia and New Zealand, selected by the Australasian -Association for the Advancement of Science, Dr Kidson will keep in touch with recent developments in meteorology, especially the late methods of forecasting by the Norwegian School.
