RADIO PROGRAMME

FRIDAY, AUGUST 14th. lYA’s programme, of a variety nature, will include a sea story by “Le Fore jßrace,” entitled “The First Voyager.” Artists contributing to the musical programme will be Miss Sylvia Doobs (mezzo-soprano), Mr Tom Moffitt (tenor), Mr E. F. Miller (exponent of the Mandolin) and the Orchestral Octet.
The major portion of the vocal items on 2YA’s concert programme will be given by the Aeolian Quartet who will present several old favourites, including duets and solos, besides quartettes. Mr J. F. Skeddeh will be heard in novelty piano solos, tuiss Gwladys Edwardes, favourite soprano, will sing to orchestral accompaniment “When Thy Blue Eyes,’’ “All Souls Day,” "Caro Mio Ben” and “The Fortune Hunter.”
The Dulcet Quartet, with solos by Miss Belle Renaut, will supply the vocal portion of 3YA’s musical programme. The Chatterboxes will provide entertainment in song and story and Mr L. T. J. Ryan will be heard in humorous “Random Ramblings.” There will be an orchestral programme by the Studio Octtt, under Mr Harold Beck. The 'Melodists (a mixed quartet) and the Ambassadors (playing popular melodies) will be responsible for the main portion of the programme from 4YA. The vocalists (Miss Rita Holmes, Miss 'Ella Hayden, Mr W. Harrison and Mr !R. B. Macdonald) will present' some line quartettes as well as solos. Humour will be contributed to the programme ■iv Mr ii. Brown and as a pianoforte item Mrs C. Brake will play the ballet music from “Le Cid.” SATURDAY, AUGUST 15th. lYA’s programme this evening will bo a relay of a concert to be given by the Municipal Choir in the Auckland Town Hall.
ii-A will relay from the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall, a concert by the Wellington Harmonic Society, under the conductorship of Mr H. Temple White. The numbers by the choir are well chosen and varied. The soloists include Mr Leon de Mauny (violinist) who will be heard in "Reverie’ oy s'leuxtemps, >' Air on the G. String” by .Bach and “Loure ’ by Bach, and Mis Wilfred Andrews (contralto).
4YA'* programme '(which will also be broadcast by 3YA) will be a real radio vaudeville entertainment. Popular quartettes will be sung by the Four Aces and choruses will also be sung to such solos as “Jingle Bells,” “Can't Renumber” “Massa’s in de Cold Ground,” ‘'Yeoman's Wedding”, and. . “Ise Gwiiie Back to Dixie.” Also on the programme will be Mr W. B. Lambert, who specialises in Hebrew humour, Stokes Banjo Band, Mr W. J. iS'inton, an artist on* the xylophone, and Mr J. Dalbianico, an exponent of the piano accordeon.
