AUCKLAND RACING CLUB. REDUCTION IN STAKE MONEY. rihj Telegraph—Per Press Association) AUCKLAND; August 14. Owing to the serious drop in all revenue last season, the Auckland Racing Club decided to make a drastic reduction in stake money for the Spring meeting and also in principal handicaps at the Sum liter meeting. The total prize money at the Spring meeting is reduced from £9,300 to £7,300. The principal reductions are:— Mitchelson Cup. which is now £IOOO and the Welcome Stakes £GSO. The Auckland Cup at the Summer meeting will he reduced from £3,000 to £2,000, the Railway Handicap from £1250 to £IOOO, the Summer Cup £IOOO to £BSO, the Racing Club Handicap £.1500 to £IOOO, Grandstand Handicap £IOOO to £BSO The weight for age races will remain the same as- last season, but the remainder of the Summer programme will he considered a'ter the Spring meeting.
