Also started: 8 Carinthia, 9 Nujouj mai, 6 Prince Lu (fell), 3 Make Up | (fell). 1 Conjuror TI, 5 Overhaul, 13 | Amorist (fell), 10 Antrim Boy (fell), j 14 Wiltshire, 4 Meinbn, 12 Apache, 7 Llyh Bhu (fell), 16 Walco King. Make Up and Llyn Dliu fell at the fence near the carriage paddock. Amorist foil at the mile post, and Prince Lu, who had led throughout, fell at the next fence. Callamart and Lancer were the first to turn for home with High Pitch and Apache next. Callamart won by two lengths from Lancer, with High Pitch four lengths away third. Apache was fourth. Time 4.48.
August Handicap(ll Kahikatoa 1; (5) On Top 2; (3) Cliarmeuse 3. Won by 2 lengths. Time 1.13 2-5. (Summer Handicap:—(B) Lockstey 1; (li) Landmark 2;. (1) Spenrful 3. Woh by a head. Time 1.40 3-5. Islington Handicap: —(1.) Compris 1; (1) Starshooter 2; (4) Air Laddie 3. Won by 4 a length, Time 2.7 2-5. The investments were £24,9114, ns against £35,545 on the same day last year, the total for the two days being £59,0464, compared with £78,1104 for the first two days last year. 1 •
