It is announced that persistent efforts on the. part of research workers at tin London Cancer Hospital have resulted in the discovery of a pure substance of known structure, that produces cancer in a large and constant proportion of cases. This is considered as an advance ol the first magnitude towards a knowledge of the combination of factors that make the incidence of cancer possible.

Referring to the cablegram that research. workers have discovered a pure substance that produces cancer m a large proportion of cases, Doctor Begg, engaged in Cancer Research here, states he thinks it probable that the discovery relates to chemical substance from one of tar products.
