BASKETBALL
PRIMARY SCHOOLS ASSOCIATION. On Saturday the final round of the A Grade competition was held at the Grey Main School. The weather conditions were against spectacular play, the wind preventing scoring in many games. On the close of the day’s play the Grey Main team was declared the winners of the A Grade championship. This team thoroughly deserved their win. Their play throughout the competition was characterised by good combination and splendid passing. Out of the 17 games played the team only lost one game and drew three. Result of the third round:— .
The Blackball team were unable to play in the third round. Position of teams for championship (total points 34): Grey Main 29, Grey' Convent 24, Hokitika Convent 22, Runanga 19, Hokitika State 10, Cobden 10, Blackball 0.
