MONDAY, AUGUST 10th. The Board met at 8.30 p.m. Present Messrs J. J. Breeze (Chairman), .G. Davidson, E. W. Heenan, R. Meharry, A. R. Eleock, W. Evenden, H. Wells and T. W. Duff. Aplogies lor absence were made for Messrs Jeffries and Keenan. The minutes were confirmed and outward correspondence approved.

From Childi Welfare Department, Christchurch, in reference to maintenance of a patient.—Received. From Official Assignee, Greymouth, •n reference to maintenance fees in deceased estate, —Received.

From Kumara Borough Council, forwarding levy.—Received. From Chiue..e Consul, Wellington, stating one of the Chinese, Ah Chun, who had arrived in Wellington from Hohitiha to bo forwarded to China died suddenly a day or two afterwards and hod been buried there. The fare }ia fieen refunded and hP wished to use tlßs to defer burial pxpensps, thp balance to be raised by Chinese jn Wellington.—. Receive- .It was resolved to write and ask for the money to be lefunded to the Board.
From E. Itevell resigning position as probationer.—Received and accepted. From Agnes Charters resigning position as probationer.—Received and accepted. From A. It. Elcock forwarding £lO 19s on account of collections of outstanding maintenance fees.—Received.
From Dr. Mclntyre, notifying fie would make visits every four months in future.—Received. It was resolved to notny the date of future visits.
. REPORTS. From Surgeon Superintendent, Westland Hospital, reporting on Ist. July there wore 17 males, 15 females—32 in the institution. Admitted during July, 22 males, 23 females—4s. Total treated 39 males, 28 females—77. Discharged cured 20 males, 22 females, relieved 2 males, 1 female, died 2 males. Total discharged 24 males, 23 females—--47. In Hospital 31st. July, 15 males, 15 females—3o. In Hospital for ovfer two months, 4 males, 6 females—lo. Received •••■•
The farm produce report for the month showed the total return was £BB 6s 1-ld value, including 1472 quarts milk, 20 sheep (14251b 5 ), 131 doz. eggs, 192 lbs pork.—Received. Accounts amounting to £293 2 S 7d were passed for payment. The Treasurer reported receipts £BOI 10s Id, payments £079 7s 3d, debit balance £444 l<s 2d.^—Received. The next meeting was fixed for September 14 th. The Board rose at- 9.10 p.m.
