For the New. Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club’s August meeting on the first day the weather was fine with a cold east wind. The course was in igood order, and* the attendance was up to the standard of receiit meetings. The tote investments were £20,278£, compared with £23,421 last year. Results :

Introductory Handicap:—(9) Gemlight 1; (10) Boneta 2; (3) Repute 3. Won by 5 lengths. Time 3.28 2-5. Advance Handicap(2) Priceless 1;' (1) Bracken 2; (5) Herod 3. Won by a neck. Time 2.47.
