BOXING ASSOCIATION

ASHBURTON, August 7 The Boxing Association this morning received the report of the Committee appointed yesterday to draft and amend the rules for the percentage basis for purses. The matter was discussed in Committee for two hours. The i'epott was rejected and Withheld from publication, The .matter of purses was left to the discretion of the Associations promoting contests. It was decided that future championships be held in September.
Officers elected were:—President, the incoming President of Taranaki Association; Vice-Presidents —J. A. Heath (Napier); H. D. Johnson (Ashburton).
Appeal Committee—-C. F. Sanders, V. R. Meredith and M. Mackenzie, all of Auckland.
Council—Dr. P. F. McEvedy (Chairman), D. R. Hoggard, J. H. Sampson, E. Blundell, E. A. Dawson, H. H. Sterling, and Colonel R. St. J. Beere (all of Wellington). Trustees Insurance Fund—R. J. Talbot (Chairman), J. R. Simpson, and J. W. Heenan. Hon, Treasurer—E. A. Dawson. Auditor—W. J. Talbot. Secretary—J. P. Aldridge.
