COASTAL STEAMER'S ORDEAL. (By Telegraph—Per press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, August 5. Shortly alter ten this morning tin Union Coastal steamer Poolta arrived at Lyttelton. She had been blown Bad' to Banks Peninsula, after being 29 mile: off Dunedin. She rail into what thofficers describe as the biggest seas they ever encountered. At one stage though at full steam she was actually 40 miles astern in four hours. She. then turned and came to Lyttelton for fresh sup plies.
