CLAIM FOR DAMAGES
WELLINGTON SOLICITOR. (lit) Telcyraph — l‘er I’ress A ssociution ) WELLINGTON, August 4. In the Supreme Court to-day, Sii Kenneth Douglas, Baronet of Wellington. is claiming £347 15s lid special, and £2500 general damages from the Victoria Laundry Co., alleging negligent and unsk.il.nl driving on the P art of William Albert Weldon, an employee of the Company, whose motorvan ran down plaintiff, causing severe injuries and shock. Plaintiff was for a period an inmate of both the Public and Bowen Street Hospitals and. the claim sets out that he is still receiving medical attention and was advised that lie would he permanently partially incapacitated. He had been unable to attend to his practice as a barrister and solicitor and had suffered and would continue to suffer substantial loss. The defence is a denial of negligence o„ the part of Weldon any way- and that plaintiff by the exercise of ordinary and reasonable care could have avoided the accident.
