CHIEF JUSTICE INDIGNANT (By Telegraph —Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 3U. A verdict oli not guilty, was returnid by the jury, bourns the Chic! Justice, iu the case in uiiicii Bessie .Durum, a> married woman, was charged with stealing cigarette gift coupons valued at L 223, iie property of AY. D. and LI. O .Wilis. Evidence was given tiiat coupons were removed from the storage bins at AVills’ where they were placed, pending destruction. There was a mild attempt at applause at the back of the Court vnen the verdict was given. Thereupon Sir AJ. Myers issued a storm warning that such conduct would not he tolerated. He ordered the doors to be dosed, and the names of the off. n. ers to be taken. The p.Jice, however, wfere unable to identify tlie particular offenders. Sir M. Myers said that if if occurred again, he would order the Court to be cleared.
