Mr Lang stated he was anxious that the Bill to reduce public servants’ salaries to a' maximum of £SOO be passed by both Houses before the end of the month. Government have received a notification from members of the Supreme Court Bench that they accepted voluntarily a temporary reduction of per cent, of their salaries. The Governor has already made a twenty-five per cent, cut in his salary. EMPLOY EES RATI ONED. SYDNEY", July 29. Consequent upon the withdrawal of assistance by the Commonwealth Bank to the Government. Savings Bank, the employees of the latter institution will be rationed forthwith. MR LANG ACCEPTS. TERMS OFFERED BY MR SCULL IN. CANBERRA, July 29. Mr Scullin has received the following telegram from Ylr Lang.—" Replying to your wire, I undertake on behall ol my Government to meet the conditions stipulated. Please expedite provision for July requirements.”
