STATE COAL
REDUCTION |N PRICE SOUGHT. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 28. A question on the price of State coal has been tabled by Mr E. J; Howard, who is to ask the Prime Minister whether, in view of his assurance that the cost of living would 'fall, in consonance with the reduction in wages, lie will take .steps to reduce the price of State coal to the consumers. “The price of coal has been increased at -Christchurch,” ■ lie said “‘and the only reduction made so faint Wellington' is on coal taken delivery of' at the State Depot, which does not benefit such of the consumers as are only able to purchase supplies in small quantities.”
