At the hearing to-day o)' the STungaiia. case, there was a further development, when the application was renewed by defendants’ counsel to have (Reid dismissed from the case on the ground that he is bankrupt. It is understood that much evidence against him would thus be inadmissible against Messrs 'Theodore, McCormack and Goddard. Chief Justice Blair refused at this juncture to dismiss him, but reserved his decision on that point. DEFENDANTS to PAY JUROR'S. BRISBANE, July 27. When the Mungana case resumed today, the jurors applied for, and received, an increase in their daily fees by 3s 6d. which were ordered to be paid by the defendants.
