PLAYER SUSPENDED. INSULTING THE REFEREE. CARTERTON, July 25. At a meeting of the management committee ’of 1 the Wairarapa Rugby Union the referee in the High School v. 'Red Star first grade match, played at Maserton on July 11, reported having ordered a Red Star player'off for being insulting to the referee and that he refused to leave the field of play nut I the club captain was appealed to. The general conduct of the Red Star team was also reported, criticising the referee’s decisions, and using insulting language toward him on the field and also after the game. It was decided that the player be suspended during the pleasure of the union and the 'Red Star 'Club be written to requesting that the team be warned that a repetition of such conduct will be severely dealt with.
