NOT GUILTY. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) DUNEDIN, July 27. The quarterly criminal sessions of the 'Supreme Court began to-day. George Albert Terry, aged 18, was found not guilty on a charge of carnal knowledge. ASSAULT CHARGE. DUNEDIN, July 27. David Wilson Forsyth, at the Supreme .Court, faced charges arising out of an alleged attack on .a taxi driver (John Belsey). They were;—That he, by violent means, rendered Belsey incapable of' resistance with intent, caus-, ing actual bodily harm; and assault with intent to rob. The jury was first empanelled to decide whether lie was insane, so that he could not, plead. Evidence was given by Dr Childs, Superintendent at Seaoliff Mental Hospital, who stated, that accused had been insane for • some time. The jury decided that accused was sufficiently sane to plead, and Forsyth will be tried to-morrow. TIMARU, July 28. The Supreme Court opened to-day before Justice Adams. There was onlyone case for the Grand Jury, a charge of sending a threatening letter against John William Roiindhill. in which the Jury found a true hill. The court is hearing the re-trial o William Watson of Temuka on a charge of arson.
