There was an unusually large attendance in the House of Commons today when, after a number of divisions, the House restored to the Government’s Agricultural LaDid Utilisation Bill; the clauses rejected by the House of lairds earlier in the session. Addressing a meeting oi 300 United States’ citizens. held in connection with the Friends of Canterbury Cathedral Festival, the Archbishop uttered a warning against international mistrust and jealousy. There could, he said, lie no security for peace, so long as the spirit of fear, jealousy, suspicion and mistrust prevailed among nations. It was not too much to say that the future of the w’orlcl depended upon the maintenance and activity of mutual understanding.
