GOLDMINING LEASES
APPLICATIONS DISMISSED. (By Telegraph —Per Press Association) ASHBURTON, July 24. Holding that pegging has not been sufficient Warden OrrAValker dismissed applications by Frederick William Manton and Godfrey Magnus of Wellington for gold mining leases a mile long by five hundred feet wide in the Ninety Mile beach south and near Lake Elßsthe method proposed for extraction being a specially contrived centrifugal pump. The Warden expressed regret at injection on a technicality, as mining should be encourageu as much as possible.
