Inquiries niade into the heads of hunks regarding the circular which Mr R. Semple, M.P., stated in the House on Thursday, that he had received, go to show that no circular was issued urging bank clients to place their money on fixed deposit as the bank mentioned would not reduce its interest rates even if Government action were taken.
CHILD'S DEATH
ASH BURTON, July 20. Iris Dailey, agcd3J, the daughter of W. J. Dailey of Nelson Street, died this morning as the result of burns received on Friday morning,' when she jumped waist deep into a heap of hot ashes left after a rubbish fire in the domain.
