VANCOUVER, July 17
Mayor D. D. Taylor announced today that arrangements would be made to hold a British Empire Industries Exhibition here in 193(5 in conjunction with the development of trade through the new treaty with Australia, in the belief that the Australian-Canadian Treaty will he followed by other intei Empire arrangements, making for better trade all round. He said that a great exhibition would be a wonderful tiling for the whole Empire. It was stated that the British and Canadian and many other Governments had agreed to take part, and that business organisations in this and other counties had indicated they would support the movement. POULTRYMEN OBJECT. TO ENTRY OF AUSTRALIAN EGGS. VANCOUVER, July 18. Declaring that the egg clause of the Australian-Canadian treaty "ill drive them out ol' of business, the British Columbia egg pool is urging the Government to reconsider the admission of Australian eggs. They state they are-producing more eggs than Canada needs now, and could export more if a market were found during the spring in Australia and the fall here, when the egg supply is always above requirements.
COMPANY HEAD AS LIEUTGOVERNOR. - VANCOUVER, July 18. John William Johnson, the President of the British Columbia Sugar Refining Company, Limited, has been appointed Lieutenant-Governor of Briish Columbia.
