AN ASSAULT
TWO MEN ARRESTED

CHRISTCHURCH, July 20
Following three liidn, whom lie thought were behaving in a suspicious manner, Waher Reynolds, nightwatchman in the employ of the Post and Telegraph Department, was ambushed by two of the m.u and received several blows before his cries for help caused his assailants to leave him and run away. The incident took place at seven o'clock yesterday morning. Reynolds received several blows, but was not hurt seriously. Two men were arrested later. SEQUEL TO ATTACK. CHRISTCHURCH. July 20. As a. sequel to an attack on a night watchman, Stanley Clifford York. 21, a motor driver, and Phillip Hack, -25, a fireman, were charged to-day with assaulting Walter Reynolds. York was also charged with being idle and disorderly| Both pleaded guilty and were remanded till Thursday on bail of £2OO.
The police said alter the assault the accused were traced to a house in the next street and identified by Reynolds, but a third man could nqt be found.
