ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES
TWO CHILDREN INJURED. BURNED WITH KEROSENE. (By Telegraph —Per Press ,1 ssociation) GISBORNE. July 20. Whilst two children, aged twelve, in the house;of Sana Knra % a Hindu, at Ruataren. were nibbing kerosene into each others hair, one girl Bessie White came into contact with a lighted caudle and rushed to her companion Kara, whose hair also caught fire. Whilst the Hindu father extinguished the flames on Ids daughter’s head the child White, rushed outdoors being {fortunately perceived by Constable Ryan, who went to the rescue and put the fire out.
Both girls and Kara were removed to Te Puia Hospital severely burned. Their condition this morning was reported to be satisfactory.
