THE WEATHER

A ROUGH WEEK-END. The weather of the past few days has been of an extremely boisterous nature. On Saturday the strong southerly blew all day accompanied during the afternoon with fierce rain storms. Conditions got worse as night wore on and throughout the night the gale blew with extreme violence, accompanied by heavy rain. When morning broke on Sunday the ground was white with a covering of hail, which had fallen during the early hours of the morning. The hail soon disappeared even though the conditions were very bleak, the cold wind being very pentrating. | The heavy blow continued all through Sunday, the conditions being very unpleasant, hail showers falling at interims throughout the day, and the wind was very heavy at times, and always bitterly cold. There was a heavy sea running along the coast, piecludin 0 ail shipping movements. The weather in the evening contmued rough at intervals and then the j wind dropped about 10 o’clock and at 11 the sky shone full of stars for a while. Then a further hail storm came do Wit with some force Later the night was ealingr but lit the early hours snow began to fall.
