DELAY TO ULIMAROA

A BENT PISTON ROD

(By Telegraph—Per Press Association)

AY ELLINGTON. July 11

The trouble responsible for the intercolonial steamer Ulimaroa putting back to port was caused by a bent piston rod in her port engine. The necessary repairs having been completed, the Ulimaroa left for Sydney at 8.15 o’clock yesterday. The return of the Ulimaroa to port was another example of the old proverb, “It’s an ill wind that blows nobody goocV Some urgent .mail arrived for members of the ship’s company just after she sailed at 12.30 p.m., and two passengers who had booked to leave by her were also just .too late, but both the mnil and the passengers were taken out to the ship yesterday.
