BURGLAR SHOT DEAD.

Claude Davis, a storekeeper at Seven Hills, near Parramatta, had affixed a burglar alarm from his small lonely store to his residence a quarter a mile away. He was awakened early in the morning by the alarm. He partly dressed and took a double-barrelled loaded gun, and discovered the store in possession of three burglars. One man surrendered and two others ran away in the darkness. Davis fired and shot one man dead. The other man was later arrested, when entering his own home. A large quantity of goods were packed ready for removal by the would be thieves.

This is the second burglar killed within a week.
