“1 hope my discussions with the Dominion Office, concerning Sir Philip Game, will lead to an acceptable compromise,” Mr Willis said. “Neitner Sir P. Game nor the Dominion Office seem to realise the strength of the democratic feeling in Australia, and the peoples’ determination to govern themselves. Sir P. Game personality would be a real loss to New .South Wales. I am not instructed to ask for his recall. It is certain that he has acted in all sincerity, but be has misinterpreted the feeling of the people I hope it will not be necssary to raise the eonsttutonal ssue, and expect that the whole position will be cleared up in friendly informal discussion,”

PROTEST TO LONDON PROPOSED SYDNEY, July 7. Thee were angry scenes in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly today, when a Labourite, Dir Kinsella, moved a motion of protest against the Legislative Council’s obstruction of the Government’s legislation. The motion urged that a protest should be transmitted through the Govneror, to the Dominions Office at London. The Onposition Leader Mr Bavin, declared that it was quite unprecedented for a private member to bring forward a motion involving a fundamental con.stitntie.nal priueirle. The Premier, Mr Lang, replied that the private members' had their rights and they were perfectly entitled to sneak as thev thought fit: and, rrmreover, he agreed with ( Mr Kinsella’s contention that an attempt was being made to govern the country through the newspapers and by the wealthy interests. which the Government would not tolerate.
