BULLER BEAT COAST. BY 11 TO 3. (By Telegraph- —Per Press Association) .WESTPORT, July 4. The first of the hotne-and-home Rugby matches for the season between Buller and West Coast was played here to-day in the presence of a large gathering of spectators. The weather was disagreeably misty,' rain falling and making the ground and ball very greasy. In the first spell, Buller scored 11 points, comprising a goal from a tree kick by Holder, and tries by McNeight and Robinson. The last-named scored after a brilliant run for three parts of •the field. Jones converted his try. West Coast had the honours of the game in the second spell, Lemin scoring a try, and several other tries being narrowly missed. The visitors’ backs were very nippy, and on a dry ground would be dangerous.

•McNeight, Stewart, and Gardbie) (forwards), and Robinson, Greer, Holder and Lament (backs) were the outstanding men for Buller.

Freitas, Bell and Deere (forwards) and Davidson, Houston, Lemin, J. King and Martyn (backs) were. the most prominent of the. visitors.
