The members ot the small Lru* u expedition to the Mima lay an .Mountains, led by the young British mountaineer, Mr I l '. L. Smyt.ho, have :rreeeded in reaching tli summit of Mount Kamel, which’ is 25, fL lent high. Mr Sm.vlhe was a niemher ot last year’s expedition to Mount : .vruuniuuga. Mount Knmet stands in the United Provinces and it is the second highest peak in the Empire. Air S'lnythc has five companions with him, viz.: Captain Birnie, Doctor Greene, AViiig Commander Beatiman. Messrs lToldsworth and Clipton. Nine previous attempts have been made on Mount Kamet without success.
