AMUSEMENTS.

EVFRYBPDYB PICTURES. ...‘‘KING OF JAZZ,” TO-NICHT ! TO-NIGHT ! Just as .. Paul Whiteman himself stands supreme in the world of music, so his first starring picture, Universal’s “King of Jazz,” to be screened to-night and Thursday stands supreme in the world of entertainment. This colossal revue is an. all-movietone and all .teclinicqloiir medley of inspiring spectacle, .'bewitching melody, matchless dancing, clever specialities and hilarious -comedy, spectacle numbers, notably the “Melting Pot”; the georgeous, dancing by the Russell Markert dancers throughout the picture, and the featured numbers of John Boles and Jeanette , Ix>ff. Boles’ splendid voice has already made him popular, but the combination of liis baritone and Whiteman’s music in such songs as “It .happened in Monterey” and “The Song of the Dawn” is superb. Jeanette Lolf is so beautiful and so talented .that her .presence is outstanding. There, are in all, eight musical spectacle numbers whose grandeur sweep everything before them. John Murray Anderson, one of the most celebrated stage producers in Amer-. ica, cannot be too highly commended both for-the breadth of his conception in creating. “King of Jazz” and for his . Selection -of- -the ..marvellous array of talent who appear in it-. ■ . -
