Professor Karl Hofmann, head of the 'Chemical ‘Department of the Berlin Institute of Technology, claims a. sensational discovery of a new gas, which will stop aeroplane engines if they stick in the smallest portion. The professor does not reveal the exact character of the gas. Trials show that a wall of such gas will stop every aeroplane, and force a descent. The fact that Germany is forbidden military aeroplanes resulted in tremendous research to discover means of adequate defence against air-craft. MOTOR COACH DISASTER, BUOHEREST, June 30.
